Standon deliver!

Freedom Dance were invited to dance at Hertfordshire’s biggest music and arts festival, Standon Calling.

The dancers put on a colourful show – competing with all the other music and hubbub, and getting a huge response from the crowd. Afterwards Diane and the trainees led a workshop for children. Their families couldn’t help getting involved.

Freedom Dance is available to perform at festivals schools and residential centres in Hertfordshire and North London.

Showcase 2015

The annual Showcase in 2015 was packed with joyful and imaginative performances from all of ActOne’s projects.

Freedom Dance performed a piece from their repertoire called After the Rain. The piece opened with an atmospheric poem written by the talented Rosie, then complimented by individual solos, exploring each dancers own personal difficulties and frustrations in life. The piece went on to reflect how the unique group can support one person to shine, how couples can support each other, and how as a group we can literally lift each other to shine and blossom as individuals.

The DanceBase Ware and Watford youth groups chose to set their pieces in the great outdoors, and they made full use of the space to express their ideas.

Last event

Our last UV Inclusive Club night was a huge success with over 60 people on the dance floor moving and shaking in their school ties, skirts and shirts at Bushey Sports Club.
